FATHER AND SON BASEBALL CAMP SET TO LAUNCH AUGUST 1-3

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-SUNY College at Old Westbury will introduce a Father and Son Weekend Baseball Camp which is a great learning and bonding experience for both father and son. Father and Son will work together on drills and techniques of the game. Dads will attend a special session where they will learn how to teach and assist in their son's development. The Father and Son Weekend Baseball Camp will begin on Friday August 1st and concludes on Sunday August 3rd.

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-SUNY College at Old Westbury’s baseball program will be represented by sophomore flamethrower, Robert Whitenack (North Massapequa, N.Y.) at the highly coveted 2008 Hawaii Collegiate Baseball League. Whitenack garnered the Skyline Conference Pitcher of the Year honors to cap off a standout season and will pitch for the Waikiki Surfers.

SAT PREP BASKETBALL ACADEMY ANNOUNCES TWO WEEK SESSION

May 30, 2008

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-SUNY College at Old Westbury will host a cutting-edge program this summer designed to prepare high school student-athletes for the SAT examination in a fun and creative environment. SAT Prep Basketball Academy will provide a two week session for high school girls and boys in which they will spend part of the day in a classroom learning about the exam and important test-taking techniques. Participants will learn strategies unique to the exam along with special skills for handling every type of question that appears on the exam: critical reading, math, and writing. Participants will spend the rest of the day training for high-level competitive basketball by developing and improving their basketball skills: shooting, offensive footwork, and dribbling. The goal of the Academy is to help students reach both their academic and athletic potentials.

Clark announced that the four SUNY College at Old Westbury student-athletes were among 76 recognized from 27 campuses. Recipients were selected after a thorough review of their credentials and accomplishments by athletic directors from across the State University System

PANTHER SOFTBALL TOPPED BY FDU-FLORHAM IN ECAC FIRST ROUND

MADISON, N.J.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Softball team lost to FDU-Florham on Wednesday evening in Madison, New Jersey at the first round of the ECAC Metro Region Tournament, 13-1. Old Westbury concludes the season with an overall record of 15-16 while FDU-Florham improves to 27-16 to move onto round two.

STARKVILLE, MS.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Softball team was honored today as freshman shortstop Maria Canino (Huntington, N.Y.) was named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Region Third Team as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released the All-Region teams today.
