HIGHLIGHTS: WAYE NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK, BASEBALL/SOFTBALL SCORES, AWARDS NIGHT, UPCOMING EVENTS
(Little Neck, NY) Tuesday, April 20, 2004 --- Hitting .529 during the five games played last week, Panther INF Chris Waye has attracted attention from the Skyline Conference. The senior from Brooklyn (Murry Bergtraum HS) today was named Player of the Week, Skyline Baseball. Waye went 10 for 19 at the plate, including a 4 for 4 effort April 18 against Kings Point. Waye batted in four runs in the 19-1 win over the Mariners, his best in-conference game of the week. Waye also got a hit in the second game of the day against Kings Point, went 2 for 4 against John Jay, 2 for 3 in first game of a doubleheader against St Joseph College, and 1 for 4 in the second game against SJC.
The Skyline Conference Player of the Week award was made by conference publicist Kim McNulty from offices in Little Neck.

(Old Westbury, NY) Tuesday, March 23, 2004 --- Old Westbury Athletics and the Panther Pride Club will honor all student athletes of 2003-04 at Athletic Awards Night, Wednesday, May 5, 2004. Presentations will start at 700 PM in the Atrium Theater of the Campus Center, and include announcements of MVPs for each intercollegiate athletic team. Overall Mens and Womens Student Athletes of the Year, Panther of the Year and recognition of outstanding academic achievements of select Old Westbury athletes are also on the program for the night.
Old Westburys annual athletic awards night is a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our student athletes, on the field and in the classroom, and should not be missed. The entire Old Westbury Community is invited to the awards presentation, as well as all Old Westbury Student Athletes and Coaches.
