NEWBURGH, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) –
The SUNY College at Old Westbury women’s swimming earned a pair of individual victories and first place in the 200 free relay but the Panthers dropped a tough 101-43 decision at Mount Saint Mary in the Elaine and William Kaplan Center Pool on Saturday afternoon. 

Freshman Melissa Spleen (Hempstead, NY) finished first in the 100 back (2:06.13) and also placed first in the 500 free with a time of 10:35.42 while sophomore Sophia Yu (Bay Shore, NY) followed in second place. 

Junior Inez Zuska (Brooklyn, NY), freshman Tionna Ward (Amityville, NY), junior Amanda Olsson-Boman (Stockholm, Sweden) and freshman Jiwon Lee (Daegu, South Korea) teamed up to claim first place in the 200 free relay in 3:08.86. 

Old Westbury will be back in the pool on Thursday, February 4 when they take on the St. Joseph’s-Brooklyn Bears in non-conference action at the Old Westbury Aquatic Center.
