FABIAN SANTIBANEZ REPEATS AS SKYLINE CONFERENCE MEN'S SOCCER PLAYER OF THE YEAR

CLIFTON PARK, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury senior Fabian Santibanez (Oyster Bay, NY) was named the Skyline Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Year the conference announced today.  This is the second consecutive year that Santibanez has been honored as the conference's top player.  He became the first Panther to win the award in back-to-back years and is the second player to achieve this accomplishment in conference history (Brian Marks - Stevens Institute of Technology 2003-2004). 

This year, Santibanez ranked among the Skyline Conference leaders in assists (2nd - 12), assists per game (2nd - .60), points (4th - 34), points per game (5th - 1.7), goals (5th - 11) and goals per game (6th - .55).  Santibanez led the Panthers to a 5-3 conference record this season and advanced the squad to the championship game for the second time in the past three seasons.  He ranks 11th in the nation in assists per game and 40th in points per game.

Senior Conor McKeon (Rockville Centre, NY) was also honored by the Skyline Conference, being named to the All-Skyline Conference Second Team.  McKeon was tied for the team lead with two game-winning goals and finished with four goals and three assists for 11 points, good for second in the team in scoring and third in assists.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, November 11, when they host fifth seeded Farmingdale State in the first round of the ECAC Division III Metro Region Tournament as the No. 4 seed at Panther Park.  Kick-off is slated for 2 p.m.
