PANTHERS HEADED TO SKYLINE CONFERENCE WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury clinched its fifth-straight Skyline Conference Championship appearance and will tip off the tournament on Wedneday against Sage.

The Panthers enter as the No. 6 seed and will face the third-seeded Gators at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals on the road in Troy, New York.  The winner will go on to face the winner of the No. 2 seed St. Joseph's-L.I. Eagles in the semifinals on Saturday, November 7 at 1:30 p.m. on the campus of NYU-Poly.   

On the season, Old Westbury is 16-16 and finished the regular season at 3-5 in Skyline Conference play.  Offensively, the Panthers will be led into the tournament by the sophomore setter Kristina Giordano (Huntington Station, NY), who has led the team with 588 assists, 107 aces.  Her 107 aces not only are tops in the conference, but rank her third in the nation.

Sage has defeated the Panthers each of the previous two years, including a 3-0 final on October 24^th in a Skyline Conference quad-match at Bard.

Semifinals & Championship (Saturday, November 7 - at NYU-Poly):
11:00 a.m. - #4/#5 winner vs. #1 NYU-Poly
1:30 p.m. - #3/#6 winner vs. #2 St. Joseph's
