www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury freshman Krystina Agard was named the Skyline Conference Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week on Monday. Agard averaged 25.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game last week for the Panthers.
In three conference games last week, she registered 29 points versus St. Joseph’s-L.I., 25 points at Mount Saint Mary and went for 21 points at Farmingdale State.
The Rosedale, New York native is currently ranked seventh in the nation in both points and steals per game while standing at 33rd in assists. Agard is ranked among the conference leaders in eight of the nine major categories. On the season, she is averaging 23.0 points (2nd in Skyline Conference), 4.65 assists (2nd in Skyline Conference), 3.78 steals (4th in Skyline Conference) and 1.57 blocked shots (3rd in Skyline Conference) per game. Agard shoots 44.2 percent from inside the arc (3rd in Skyline Conference), 85.9 percent from the free throw line (2nd in Skyline Conference), 36.2 percent from outside the arc (3rd in Skyline Conference) and canned 38 three pointers (8th in Skyline Conference).
Old Westbury is 11-12 overall and 6-10 against the Skyline Conference and will look to snap their five game skid with two games remaining and snag a spot in the upcoming Championship Tournament.
