OLD WESTBURY, NY (
www.oldwestburypanthers.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's and women's swimming teams are set to compete in the Skyline Conference Championship on Saturday in Purchase, New York. Purchase College will serve as the host site for the championship event.
Men's Swimming captured third place at the conference championship the past two years while Maritime claimed the past two conference championships.
On the women's side, the team's top finishes were sixth-place showing in the past two championships. Last year, Purchase hoisted the championship, out-swimming Mount Saint Mary, who won it in 2007-08.
Both teams will face the best swimmers the conference has to offer all under one roof. The first event is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m. The Panthers faced a tough schedule against quality opponents in the regular season to prepare for the challenges of the conference championship.
FINAL CONFERENCE STANDINGS
Old Westbury men's swimming finished third in the Skyline Conference regular-season standings and the women's squad ended up in sixth-place.
