2010 Skyline Conference Swimming Championship Release

PURCHASE, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's swimming team wrapped-up competition at the 2010 Skyline Conference Swimming Championship on Saturday afternoon at Purchase College. The Panthers finished the competition in sixth place.

Sophomore Amanda Olsson-Boman (Stockholm, Sweden) highlighted the individual accomplishments for Old Westbury, earning second Team All-Conference in the 200 butterfly at 2:50.48. She followed with fourth place in the 100 butterfly in 1:13.85. Freshman Marissa Smith (Melville, NY) led the Panthers in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, finishing 14th (3:44.47) and 12th (10:44.27), respectively. Sophomore Leeanna Ladouceur (Ronkonkoma, NY) paced the squad in three events, finishing 16th (1:50.62) in the 100 backstroke, 25th in the 50 freestyle in 45.30 and 25th (1:44.93) in the 100 freestyle.

The 400 freestyle relay team of sophomore Karen Camargo (Farmingdale, NY), Amanda Olsson-Boman, Marissa Smith and junior Inez Zuska (Brooklyn, NY) combined to finish sixth in 7:01.53.

The Panthers ended the meet in sixth place with 10 points. Mount Saint Mary was the 2010 Skyline Conference champion with 121.5 points, followed by Purchase (90), St. Joseph's-L.I. (77), Maritime (28) and Mount Saint Vincent (22.5).

Old Westbury will be back in the pool on Wednesday, February 10 when they take on the St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn Golden Bears in non-conference action at the Old Westbury Aquatic Center.
