(www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – SUNY College at Old Westbury freshman Krystina Agard has been named the ECAC Metro Region Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Year and D3hoops.com Atlantic Region Rookie of the Year and was tabbed to the ECAC Second Team and D3hoops.com Third Team, announced on Wednesday.

Agard ranked nationally in points per game (6th), steals per game (18th), free throw percentage (23rd) and assists per game (36th). She finished the year with 579 points, 172 field goals made, 196 free throws made, 39 three pointers made, 148 rebounds, 119 assists, 94 steals and 36 blocked shots.

The 5-foot-8 guard from Rosedale, New York ranked amongst the Skyline Conference leaders in 10 of the 13 major statistical categories. She averaged 23.2 points (2nd in Skyline Conference), 4.76 assists (2nd in Skyline Conference). 36.8 minutes (2nd in Skyline Conference), 3.76 steals (3rd in Skyline Conference), 1.44 blocked shots (3rd in Skyline Conference) and 0.72 assist/turnover ratio (7th in Skyline Conference). She also shot 86 percent from the free throw line (2nd in Skyline Conference), 34.2 percent from three-point range (5th in Skyline Conference) 43.1 percent from the field (7th in Skyline Conference) and sank an average of 1.56 three-pointers per game (10th in Skyline Conference).

Agard was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Year and to the All-Skyline Conference First Team on March 1. She collected 10 out of 14 Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week honors and was named to the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week for Jan. 11-17.
