Round One Results
BRIDGEHAMPTON, NY (
www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men’s golf team played one round in the first day of the LI Intercollegiate Championship. The team is in seventh place after the first round shooting of a 415 (+127) at the par-72 6,800 yard The Bridge Golf Club.
In the opening round the team was led by freshman
Matthew Lester, who has continually found himself pacing Old Westbury. In round one Lester fired a 96 (+26) and was in a tie for 29th.
Steven Stumper is currently in 32nd with a 102 (+30).
Kurt Evans posted a 108 (+36) to place 34th while Joseph Perry followed in 35th and shot a 109 (+37).
Amanda Laib rounded out the squad in 37th and carded a 114 (+42)
The team is 29 strokes away from jumping ahead of Suffolk Community College in sixth place. In a strong field, the Panthers look to improve in day two and move up in the leaderboard.
