WOMEN'S SOCCER DROPS SEASON OPENER AT CENTENARY

HACKETTSTOWN, NJ (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury women’s soccer allowed three goals in the opening 10:47 en route to a 9-0 season opening non-conference loss on the road to the Centenary Cyclones on Wednesday afternoon. The loss moves OW to 0-1 while Centenary jumps out to 1-0.

Jazmine Farrell scored two of her five goals at 6:12 and 7:46 to give the Cyclones an early two goal advantage. Goals by Tatiana Kingston (10:47), Courtney Flanagan (26:11) and Farrell (33:33) sent the Cyclones into the half with a commanding 5-0 lead. Centenary outshot Old Westbury 15-3 in the opening half.

Flanagan scored in the 60th minute followed by Bianca Santulli at 61:52 to push Centenary ahead 7-0. Jazmine Farrell scored at 78:04 and 82:24 to cap the scoring.

Jennifer Kupfer and Cassandra Esposito both registered three shots to account for the Old Westbury offense while Centenary took a 28-6 advantage in the shot department. OW keeper Chynna Pitlock made 11 saves and Centenary’s Ashley Denti added five.

BROCKPORT GOLDEN EAGLES NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury will take on the Brockport Golden Eagles at the Fisher Tournament on Saturday in Pittsford, New York. Kick-off is slated for 1 p.m.
