(www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men’s soccer team fell in double-overtime to the Drew Rangers, 2-1, Saturday night on day one of Drew Fall Festival. Old Westbury draws even at 1-1 on the season with the defeat and will battle the Staten Island Dolphins in day two 2 p.m. Drew improves to 2-0 and will take on Keystone College in the championship game at 4 p.m.

A Drew score in double-overtime was the downfall for the Panthers after a hard-fought 105:48 of soccer. Matthew Greenberg sent the ball to Craig Wagenblast, who finished it into the back left corner of the net for the game winner.

The Panthers struck first on a goal by Anthony Ippolito in the 20th minute. Ippolito fired a laser from 40 yards out over Drew keeper Jeff Rogers head for his team leading second goal of the season. Old Westbury took a 1-0 lead into the half despite Drew holding the edge in shots (13-6) and corner kicks (5-2).

The Rangers responded 43:01 later, as Matthew Gragnao leveled the score in the 63rd minute.
Drew finished the match with a 29-10 advantage in shots (17-3 in shots on goal) and 13-2 in corner kicks. Darian Bryan made 15 saves for Old Westbury and his counterpart Jeff Rogers stopped two shots. 
 
STATEN ISLAND DOLPHINS NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to action for day two of the Drew Fall Festival on Sunday, September 5, as they take on the Staten Island Dolphins. Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Madison, New Jersey.
