MADISON, NEW JERSEY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team won for the second time in three games to start the season, the final was 2-nill over the Staten Island Dolphins on the final day at the Drew Fall Festival Sunday afternoon. Old Westbury climbs to 2-1 on the season with the win, sending Staten Island to 0-3 overall.

OW senior keeper Darian Bryan played all 90 minutes in front of the net for the Panthers, making two saves to earn his fourth career shutout. The Elmont, New York native helped paced the Panthers defensively leaving the Dolphins scoreless.

Old Westbury and Staten Island battled a scoreless first half until Anthony Echevarria found Victor Farfan on cross for the tap in score at 25:57 to give the Panthers the one goal advantage. OW took a 1-0 lead into the half while outshooting the Staten Island, 16-1.

Old Westbury added its second goal in the 57th minute when freshman Christopher Barbosa took a deep cross from Anthony Ippolito on the endline and shot successfully past Staten Island keeper, Ahmed El-Ghareib. OW's shot advantage in the second half was 11-4.

Old Westbury took a 27-5 advantage in shots, including 14-2 in attempts on-goal, with a 9-3 edge on corner kicks. Staten Island's Ahmed El-Ghareib had 12 saves and allowed two goals.

VASSAR BREWERS NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury is back in action on Wednesday, September 8 at Vassar College. Panthers and Brewers kick-off at 4:30 p.m. in Poughkeepsie, New York.
