– The SUNY College at Old Westbury freshman midfielder Anthony Ipollito earned Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week laurels inn men’s soccer as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
The freshman made a statement in his first game, knocking home the 2-1 game-winner against the York Cardinals in the 51st minute. He followed with the lone Panther goal in a heart breaking 2-1 double-overtime defeat by the Drew Rangers at the 19:54 mark. Christopher Barbosa, ensuring Old Westbury’s 2-0 victory over the Staten Island Dolphins.
IPOLLITO AND THE PANTHERS ON THE ROAD WEDNESDAY AT VASSAR: Old Westbury returns to action on Wednesday (Sept. 9), taking on the Vassar Brewers in Poughkeepsie, New York. Panthers and Brewers kick-off in Gordon Field at 4:30 p.m.
