POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (www.oldwestburypanthers.com) – The SUNY College at Old Westbury men’s soccer team fell at Vassar 1-0 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon at Gordon Field in Poughkeepsie, New York. With the loss, Old Westbury fell to 2-2 on the year while the Vassar Brewers improved to 2-1.

After a scoreless first half that drew both teams even in the shot department, 6-6, Vassar finally broke through in the second half. The Brewers capitalized on a 3-on-1 breakaway that had Harrison Freund send the assist over to Adrien Demelier who knocked home the game-winner into the right corner past the outstretched arms of OW keeper Darian Bryan.

Vassar had a 16-12 edge in shots for the game and 10-1 in corner kicks. Darian Bryan finished with five saves, while Ryan Grimme picked up the victory off a three-save shutout. Anthony Ipollito (5), Christopher Barbosa (3) and Victor Farfan (1) accounted for 10-of-12 Old Westbury shots.
