OLD WESTBURY, NY (

FOOTWEAR FOR THE WORLD in the inaugural Senior Day Shoe Drive and will be collecting shoe donations Wednesday, February 16 at the men's basketball senior day contest against Skyline Conference foe, Maritime Privateers at the Clark Athletic Center, with the game starting at 7 p.m. Prior to tip off, men's basketball seniors
Lester Prosper,
Rudy Lys, Frantz Granjean, Tymel Amrbose,
Andre Martin,
Frederick Hampton and
Christopher Todd will be honored for their dedication to Old Westbury Athletics.
Any style, size, new or used, will be accepted and will contribute to OW's shoe drive initiative, benefiting Footwear For The World, a non-profit organization that supplies individuals in need, living in the United States or, around the world.
FOOTWEAR FOR THE WORLD MISSION
To prevent foot injury by providing new or slightly used shoes to individuals in need, living in the United States or, around the world.
Simple foot injury can lead to catastrophic events such as infection and even amputations. Every second around the world, countless number of injuries occur that can be easily prevented with a pair of proper fitting shoe gear.
The relationship between parasitic illness and poverty has been well documented by numerous international health and welfare organizations that provide basic services to people living in impoverished environments. Footwear for the World collaborates with community-based and grassroots in the United States and in developing countries to help identify individuals in needs, and to ensure that your donations go to those who need them the most.
When you donate a pair of shoes to someone in need, you help to protect their feet from injury, restore their self-respect, dignity and humanity.
