Paul named Swimmer of the Week; Woodhead takes Rookie of the Week

OLD WESTBURY, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) ––The SUNY College at Old Westbury senior Stephen Paul and freshman Bryan Woodhead combined to sweep the Skyline Conference Men's Swimming weekly awards, taking home Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively.  Paul grabbed his first award of the season and Woodhead tallied his fifth in leading the Panthers to a 2-1 week. 

Paul, a native of Staten Island, New York, swam a season-best time in the 100 breaststroke against U.S.M.M.A and York with a second place finish time of 1:10.76.  He also claimed a pair of first place finishes against Sarah Lawrence in the 200 IM (3:34.69) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.23) events.

Hailing from Port Jefferson, New York, Woodhead logged season-best times in the 50 freestyle (21.67) and 500 freestyle (5:41.44) events against U.S.M.M.A. and York, finishing in first and second place, respectively.  Against Sarah Lawrence, He placed first in the 100 freestyle (50.29) and 200 freestyle relay (1:54.76) events.

STATEN ISLAND DOLHPINS UP NEXT FOR PAUl, WOODHEAD AND THE PANTHERS: Old Westbury returns to the pool on Tuesday (Jan. 24) in Staten Island, New York for a non-conference showdown against the Staten Island Dolphins in Staten Island, New York.  Race time is scheduled for 6 p.m. inside the CSI Sports and Recreation Center.
