Clarissa Gallagher has been named the Skyline Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week for the first time, announced Monday by league officials.
Gallagher contributed seven points, five rebounds and three assists as Old Westbury snapped a nine-game losing streak against Farmingdale State on Wednesday. She closed out the week by pouring in a game-high 18 points (7-10 FG), hitting 3-of-5 from three-point territory to go along with five rebound and two steals in 19 minutes of action in a home win over Vaughn on Saturday.
On the season, the Brooklyn, New York native is averaging 10.3 (T-10th in Skyline) points and ranks tied for second in the conference with a 36.4 percent rate from three-point range while leading the team in free-throw percentage (86.1%).
MOUNT SAINT VINCENT DOLHINS UP NEXT FOR GALLAGHER AND THE PANTHERS: The Panthers return to the hardwood for a Skyline Conference matchup on Wednesday (Feb. 31) when they host the Mount Saint Vincent Dolphins in Old Westbury, New York. Game time is set to tip at 7 p.m. inside the Clark Athletic Center.
