(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) – No. 2 SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team earned a 15-11 come-from-behind victory against the No. 3 St. Joseph's-L.I. Golden Eagles, Friday evening from Farmingdale State Baseball Field in the second round of the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament. 

Old Westbury (27-9) tied a program record set in 2009 with their 27th win, advancing to face No. 1 Farmingdale State in the winners bracket Saturday morning at 10 a.m.  St. Joseph's-L.I. (20-20) moves into the losers bracket and faces No. 4 Mount Saint Mary at 1 p.m. in Farmingdale, New York. 

Old Westbury starter Tim Walsh put his team in an early hole; giving up four runs off five hits in the first inning.  In the second, Old Westbury answered with five runs off three hits to take a 5-4 lead.  Paul Valerio drew a bases loaded walk, followed by Brian Reutter's two-run single.  Valerio and Reutter worked a double-steal, moving runners in scoring position for Anthony Orsano's run scoring single.  Reutter advanced home as St. Joseph's-L.I. catcher Mike Alisio allowed a passed ball for Old Westbury's go ahead run.  Old Westbury added four runs in both the third and fourth frames to hold a 13-7 lead and finished with a 15-11 victory, holding the advantage in hits, 16-13, while St. Joseph's-L.I. committed nine errors as Old Westbury stole a season-best 17 bases.

Tim Walsh (5-3) lasted 5.1 innings to earn Old Westbury's victory, striking out one while serving up nine runs (eight earned) off 10 hits and four walks.  Jason Dierkes (3-5) took the Golden Eagles' loss, serving up nine runs (four earned) off 10 hits and four walks. 

Brian Reutter banged out a career-high five hits for Old Westbury, going 5-for-6 (2B, 3B) with three RBI and three runs scored to go along with four stolen bases.  Paul Valerio (1-5), stole four bases, drove in three runs and scored three while Anthony Orsano (3-6, 2 RBI, SB) and Christopher DeGennaro (3-5, RBI, 2 R, 2 SB) tallied three hits apiece.  Prateek Thaman led St. Joseph's-L.I. with a 3-for-3 game at the plate, scoring two runs while driving in one. 

SKYLINE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT UP NEXT FOR THE PANTHERS: The Panthers return to the diamond for a Skyline Conference Championship Tournament on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Farmingdale, New York against top-seeded Farmingdale State.
