RONKONKOMA, NYÂ (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) - The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team again took its talent to the hardwood on February 22 to participate in the Valentine's Zumba "How Do I Love Thee, Let Me Count the Ways" for the American Heart Association held at the Roseland School of Dance in Ronkonkoma, New York. The event generated over $600 which was donated to the American Heart Association.
The Panthers most recently participated in Roseland School of Dance's Zumbathon on October 19, in an event that honored dance school owner Ms. Rose who at the time was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. That event generated $1,500 for the American Cancer Society, making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
Head coach
Mary Jo Fazio along with assistant coach
Samantha Siegler, captains
Samantha Howley and
Jennifer Jean, and teammates
Katie Rizzo,
Jessica Deptulski, Delana Marray and
Gabriella Valdes participated in the event.
"Once again a great day of dancing and exercise mixed with tons of laughs all for a good cause," said Fazio. "I get to involve the team in another passion of mine other than softball, while raising awareness for heart disease and raising money for a good cause."
