@OW_Panthers Softball participates in Help Our Heroes Zumbathon

PATCHOGUE, NY---(www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) Members of the SUNY Old Westbury softball team recently participated in the Help Our Heroes Zumbathon fundraiser that benefited soldiers, veterans, police officers and firefighters July 11 at the John A. Danzi Center on the campus of St. Joseph's College-Long Island in Patchogue, New York.

The four-hour event featured a two-hour Zumbathon, followed by refreshments, raffles and entertainment by the American Bombshells. Proceeds from the Help Our Heroes Zumbathon were donated to Boots on the Ground NY, National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and the Suffolk County Police Memorial Fund.

"We took time out from our busy summer schedules to give back to the local community by showing our pride for the heroes that help us," said SUNY Old Westbury head softball coach Mary Jo Fazio.

For the second consecutive year, Fazio, along with student-athletes Nicole DeCola, Katie Rizzo and Gabriella Valdes represented Old Westbury at the event.
