Mission of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
The State University of New York, College at Old Westbury, as part of the educational mission of the college, strives to offer a program of NCAA Division III athletics that will meet the individual needs, interest and abilities of all students who participate. Our goal is to develop an environment that values cultural diversity and gender equity among student-athletes and staff.
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at SUNY College at Old Westbury is committed to provide close interaction between its coaches, staff and student-athletes. This will allow our participants an opportunity to strive for personal best. We believe active participation on an intercollegiate team will provide student-athletes an opportunity to develop lifetime skills such as leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship and community service.
Old Westbury Athletics will strive to attain competitive excellence in all sports programs. Local, regional and national achievement shall be a goal for all teams. The mission of the SUNY College at Old Westbury Department of Intercollegiate Athletics program is a commitment to excellence of the scholar athlete, one who strives to lead in work, in the community and in life.
