WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO MEDGAR EVERS 3-2 IN OT

BROOKLYN, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's soccer team fell to non-conference opponent, Medgar Evers College on the road, 3-2 in overtime on Monday evening. Old Westbury now sits at 4-10 on the season while Medgar Evers College moves to 8-8 on the year.
Old Westbury junior Jessica Manning (Carle Place, N.Y.) put the Panthers on the board, netting her second goal of the season at the nine minute mark. Freshman Cassandra Esposito (Valley Stream, N.Y.) recorded her first assist of the season, connecting with junior Courtney Dixon (Baldwin, N.Y.) in the 11th minute to double the advantage. Down two goals, Medgar Evers responded with a Shakera Ho-Sang score in the 21st minute, off an assist from fellow Cougar, Kerissa Harris. Shakera Ho-Sang added her second score at the 40 minute mark off a feed from Yishka Chin to tie the game at 2-2.
Both teams defended well over the next 55 minutes until Shakera Ho-Sang added her third goal of the game for the Cougars in the 95th minute. Shakera Ho-Sang single handedly rallied Medgar Evers from a 2-0 deficit in the first half to top the Panthers, 3-2 in overtime.
The Panthers outshot Medgar Evers 17-14, while the Cougars finished with a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. Cassandra Esposito finished the night with a team-leading seven shots, while Courtney Dixon posted four followed by junior Jennifer Campisi's (Commack, N.Y.) three attempts.
