The Old Westbury baseball team fell to 0-3 with a 21-6 loss at Lynchburg's Fox Field this afternoon. With the win, the Hornets improve to 8-3 on the season.
Old Westbury (0-3) took a 1-0 lead off an unearned run in the first inning, but the Hornet's held the Panthers off for the next five innings, and tallied 12 runs early to put the game out of reach.
Lynchburg got on the board initially in the bottom of the first, as Lucas Jones' three-run homerun proved to be the game-winning hit. The Hornets went on to score two runs in the second and added seven in the third, taking a 12-1 lead and never looked back.
Ramon Geronimo was 2-5 with two RBI for the Panthers, while Jesse Germinario scored two runs. Dean Johnson was 3-4 with four RBI and three runs scored for Lynchburg.
Old Westbury continues its road swing with two games at Lincoln University (PA) on Sunday.
