MAZZARESE NAMED SKYLINE CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

APRIL 14, 2008

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Baseball team was honored this week as freshman Joe Mazzarese (Copiague, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week.

Mazzarese batted .409 99-for-22) with five runs batted in and four runs scored. He was also 4-for-6 in stolen base attempts. Mazzarese hit safely in five of the Panthers' six games. In a double-header at Maritime College, he went 6-for-8 with four runs batted in and three runs scored. On the season Mazzarese is hitting .281 and leads the team in multiple categories, inlcuding 18 runs batted in and 17 stolen bases.
