MATEO NAMED SKYLINE CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Baseball team was honored this week as freshman Emmanuel Mateo (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week.

Mateo hit in four straight games last week, going 5-for-13 with six runs and thee runs batted in. Mateo was also a perfect 7-for-7 in the stolen base department and went 3-for-6 with four runs scored and two runs batted in against Richard Stockton in a double-header at the Cocoa Expo Sports Center. On the season, Mateo is leading the squad in handful of categories, with a .345 batting average, five doubles (1^st in Skyline Conference) and 10-for-10 (1^st in Skyline Conference) on the base path. Mateo has recorded six runs batted in over nine games.

Old Westbury (1-13) returns to action on Thursday, March 20^th to host non-conference opponent, Cortland State.
