PANTHER BASEBALL FALLS TO NEW PALTZ ON SENIOR NIGHT

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Baseball team lost an 8-1 decision on Senior Night to New Paltz College on Wednesday evening at the Jackie Robinson Athletic Complex. Old Westbury drops to 11-26 overall while New Paltz improves to 17-17.
Panthers at the plate: Josh Flett (2-for-4, SB) was the lone Panther to register multiple hits. Flett hit a pair of singles which included driving in Thomas Butler (0-for-3) from second base in the second inning for the lone score of the game for Old Westbury. Senior Leonel Lopez (1-for-2, BB) clubbed a doubled down the right field line to lead off the fifth inning while Ryan Blanco (1-for-4) tripled in the third inning. Emmanuel Mateo (1-for-4) collected his lone hit of the day as he stroked a single through the right side in the eighth inning.
Hawks at the plate: Tyler Terlecky (3-for-6) was one of four Hawks to strike for multiple hits. Terlecky hit a double and two singles and scored one run while Jesse Marsh (2-for-5) drove in two runs off two singles. Michael Marsh (2-for-50 tripled home Jesse Marsh in the six run third inning. Joel Judson (2-for-4) totaled two singles and two scores as Michael Fasolo (1-for-4) doubled home two runs and scored twice.
Panthers on the mound: Dan Fordyce (3-2) suffered the loss after tossing three innings on the mound. Fordyce gave up seven earned runs on six hits due in part to six walks and only one strikeout. Frank Russo Jr. then relieved Fordyce for two innings, in which he allowed one hit before Jorge Hiraldo took over for two innings. Hiraldo struck out two batters and gave up one earned run on three hits. David Collado tossed a scoreless eighth inning before Thomas Butler closed out the ninth with two strikeouts.
Hawks on the mound: Joel Judson went the distance to record the victory with eight strikeouts; Judson allowed one earned run on five hits as he handed out two free passes.
Game notes: Old Westbury was out-hit, 12-5 including 3-2 in the extra base hit department. On the base path, Old Westbury stranded six Panthers and stole one base as New Paltz left 14 Hawks on base. In the field, Old Westbury turned one double-play and committed one error while New Paltz had one error. On the mound, Old Westbury struck out six Hawks and walked eight as New Palt struck out eight Panthers and walked two.
