FRAZIER CAPTURES "ROOKIE OF THE WEEK" HONORS

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-Freshman center Joshua Frazier (Westbury, N.Y.) was recognized on Monday by the Skyline Conference with "Rookie of the Week" Honors.  This is the second Skyline Conference "Rookie of the Week" honors Frazier collected this season.  Despite playing in two of three games this past week, Frazier helped the Panthers to two wins and averaged 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists in only 19 minutes.  

Frazier opened last week with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists in 21 minutes during a 93-79 defeat at St. Joseph's College (LI).  He followed with 17 points (7-of-13 from the field), 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block performance in only 18 minutes in a 75-73 win against Manhattanville.

Frazier is averaging 13.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting 44 percent from the field in only 20 minutes per game.

Frazier has helped the Panthers (9-6 overall; 5-2 Skyline Conference) to a four-way tie for second place with Manhattanville, Stevens Institute of Technology and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

The Panthers are the top ranked team in the Skyline averaging 10.6 steals per game and is second with a +3.5 rebounding margin.  Old Westbury is seventh in scoring offense with 73.1 points and is fifth in scoring defense giving up 74.1 points per game.  The Panthers are shooting 67 percent from the free-throw line and 42 percent from the field.
