Soccer 2003: Challenging Schedule, Strong Finish
Jun 1, 2004

Panther Soccer 2003 faced its toughest schedule ever, with five matches against regionally ranked teams. In fact, Old Westbury (6-13, 4-5 Skyline Conference) stayed in the running for a Skyline playoff berth until the last week of the season. Match highlights included a 2-0 conference victory over Mt St Mary and a 4-0 win over Centenary College at Panther Park. Well played 0-2 losses to Manhattanville, and nationally ranked Ramapo College also highlighted the year.

Individual highlights included a 19 goal, three assist campaign for senior F Chikwe Azinge, who was named a Skyline Conference second team All Star as well as team ProHealth MVP. Azinge also earned Skyline Player of the week honors twice, and was named Regional All Star by the NSCAA (honorable mention).

Sophomore D Ian Hysell also earned a Skyline second team nod with another outstanding season. GK Sergio Marin was presented with the ProHealth Most Improved Player award by head coach Mark Prizant during the Old Westbury 10th Annual Sports Awards Night.
