The Lady Panther volleyball squad opens 2004 with tough loss to New Jersey City Univ. 3-0
Sep 16, 2004

Lady Panther volleyball for 2004 got started with the excitement of a new Head Coach, Marjhana Segers, and a new team, also a home game with a non-confernce foe, New Jersey City Univ.

The small contigent of OW fans supported the team loudly and provided some much needed vocal support. New Jersey City dispalyed a little more experience as they were able to defeat the Lady Panthers in each of the three contests; 30-12, 30-8,and 30-14. The team played with heart and battled every point as they fought to stay in every game. Freshman, Whitney Alexander proved to be one of the Lady Panther teammates to provide some juice as she nailed six kills in the three matches. Also freshman, Monique Midy in game three served three consecutive aces to keep the team in the game.

Coach Segers and her team must use the games as a learning experience and move forward as they must prepare for their next opponent, St. Joseph's a Skyline division rival on Tuesday night at home September 21, 2004 at 7:00p.m. The Lady Panther will prowl forward with their heads high and should look to feast on some St. Joes Golden Eagles. You must know that when Panthers are hungry you had better keep away or else!(dinner is served).
