Shawn Holland’s Two Goals Lift Old Westbury to First Win of Season
Sep 7, 2005

Maspeth, NY – The Old Westbury men’s soccer team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 3-0 win over Yeshiva last night. The Panthers improve to 1-2 on the season.

Shawn Holland tallied the game-winner for the Panthers in the 25th minute after beating a Yeshiva defender and blasting the ball past the keeper to the far post. The goal was his first of the season and the ninth of his career and was assisted by Brandon DeNoyer. Holland, who finished the game with six shots, also added an insurance goal for the Panthers, scoring his second goal of the match off a pass from John Senatore late in the first half.

Donald Santoro and Clifton Jourdain connected in the second half to give the Panthers a 3-0 lead and put the game out of reach for Yeshiva.

Brian Hicks, who finished with four saves in the win, recorded his first shutout of the season.

The Panthers will kickoff the 2005 home slate this weekend when they host York College. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 pm on the campus of SUNY Old Westbury.
