Wildcats Prevail In Win Over Panthers

Old Westbury, NY-Panther Park hosted a match up of panthers and wildcats hungry for a fifth win in their 2006 campaign. The game consisted of a lot of hustle and muscle as the two teams seemed destined to prevail with a victory, but in the end the upperclassmen heavy SUNY IT Wildcats that came off the field with the 1-0 victory.
The young panther team played tough, but in the end experience was the deciding factor as SUNY IT senior goalkeeper Andy Korhun got credited for the shutout and senior forward Robert Difiore scored the games lone goal. The Panthers season has two games remaining both of which are conference against St. Joseph's College (LI) and Centenary.
Old Westbury looks to end the final home game on a positive note when St. Joseph's College (LI) comes into Panther Park at 3:00 pm followed by the season finale at Centenary College on Saturday, October 28 at 1:00 pm. These are important games for the Panthers, which look to carry momentum into next season as a statement year.
