LEAKEY NAMED SKYLINE CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

NOVEMBER 5, 2007

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Men's Soccer team was honored this week as Justin Leakey was named Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week.

Freshman Justin Leakey (Baldwin, N.Y.) scored four of the six goals in the Skyline Conference Championship for SUNY Old Westbury, including game-winning goals in both the semifinals and championship. In a 5-0 win over Maritime in the semifinals, Leakey put the Panthers ahead early with goals in the third and tenth minute. He completed the hat trick with a goal in the 72^nd minute. In the championship game at St. Joseph's (LI), Leakey accounted for all of the scoring with a goal in the 35^th minute as he led Old Westbury to its first Skyline Conference title and NCAA bid.

Leakey is ranked nationally with an average of 1.86 points per game (59^th in nation) and .79 goals per game (56^th in nation).

Old Westbury is set to travel to Salisbury University on Saturday, November 10^th for the first round of the NCAA Championship Tournament. Game time is slated for 11:00 am.
