FABIAN SANTIBANEZ COLLECTS SKYLINE CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE YEAR HONORS

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury men's soccer team was honored today by the Skyline Conference today as junior midfielder Fabian Santibanez (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) captured the league's Player of the Year accolade. Old Westbury placed a total of three players on the All-Skyline Conference first and second teams, according to a league announcement made on Monday.
Santibanez led the Panthers to a 6-3-0 Skyline Conference mark en route to collecting the league's player of the year crown. The Oyster Bay, New York resident posted 61 shots, 10 goals and a team-leading seven assists including one game-winning score, in 17 games this fall. Santibanez registered two assists in Old Westbury's opening round victory in the Skyline Conference Championship tournament over Bard College last Tuesday night.
Freshman defender Timothy Munzing (Oceanside, N.Y.) anchored Old Westbury's backline for 17 games to earning all-league honors. He started all 17 games and led the Panthers to two shutouts and finished his freshman campaign with six points - two goals and two assists. Sophomore Justin Leakey (Baldwin, N.Y.) joined Munzing on the All-Skyline Conference First Team after recording a team-high 28 points - 12 goals and four assists in 15 games. Senior forward John Senatore (Ridge, N.Y.) started in 14-of-16 games to garner Second Team laurels, recording 17 points- six goals and five assists with three game-winners for the Green and Ivory.
