(Little Neck, NY) Monday, February 9, 2004 --- For the sixth time during the 2003-04 womens basketball season, Old Westbury first year student Ashley Embry is the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week. The five-nine forward from Hempstead scored sixteen points, with fourteen rebounds and two assists against Farmingdale State. Embry then led all scorers with 24 points against Yeshiva University, while also pulling down eleven rebounds. Through 21 games, the Hempstead HS grad leads the Lady Panthers in points scored (303), points per game (15.2), steals (47) and rebounds (10.3 per game).
The week ending 02/09/04 marks the fourth week in a row that Embry has won the conference award. Embrys previous Rookie of the Week honors were for the weeks ending 12/02/03 12/22/03, 01/20/04, 01/26/04, and 02/02/04.
