FERGUSON AWARDED TO THE SKYLINE CONFERENCE "WEEKLY HONOR ROLL"

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - For the first time this season, junior center Ashawn Ferguson (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned herself a place on the Skyline Conference "Weekly Honor Roll". This past week Ferguson averaged 14.6 points, 14 rebounds and 2.7 steals in three games for the Panthers.

Last week Ferguson contributed 13 points, 17 rebounds (9 offensive) and 2 steals against St. Joseph's College (LI). On Wednesday against top ranked Mount Saint Mary, Ferguson scored 8 points on 3-of-5 shooting to go along with 12 rebounds (7 offensive) and 2 steals. In Saturday's 51-point blowout over the College of New Rochelle, Ferguson posted a double-double. Ashawn finished with 23 points and 13 rebounds (10 offensive) to go along with 4 steals and 2 blocks.

The Brooklyn, N.Y., native has posted an average of 8.5 points per game and a team leading 7.8 rebounds per game (7^th in Skyline Conference) during her junior year campaign. Ferguson is shooting 43 percent from the field (9^th in Skyline Conference) and averages .57 blocks (10^th in Skyline Conference) and just under 1 steal per contest.

As a team, the Panthers (11-11 Overall, 4-10 Skyline) head into the stretch run in eighth place in the Skyline Conference.

Statistically, Old Westbury ranks fourth in the conference in steals with an average of 12.95 per game and fourth in the conference with in scoring defense, giving up an average of 58.3 points per game. The Panthers rank eighth in scoring offense (57.3 points per game) and has a scoring margin of -1.0 (7^th in the Skyline Conference) . Old Westbury is ranked ninth in field-goal percentage (.338) and is shooting 57.6 percent from the free-throw line.
