PURNELL NAMED TO THE SKYLINE CONFERENCE "WEEKLY HONOR ROLL"

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - It was announced Monday that senior guard Danna Purnell (Deer Park, N.Y.) was named to the Skyline Conference Weekly Honor Roll". Danna Purnell averaged 15.3 points, 11.3 rebounds and 5 assists in a 2-1 week for the Panthers.
Danna Purnell poured in 16 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, dished out 8 assists, nabbed 3 steals and blocked 2 shots in a 77-17 win over CCNY. On Thursday, Purnell scored 10 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and recorded 2 steals and 1 block in a 59-50 loss to Mount Saint Vincent. Danna Purnell scored 20 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, handed out 5 assists, nabbed 3 steals and rejected 1 shot in a 72-58 win over Centenary College on Saturday.
Purnell leads the Panthers with a team-best 12.3 points per game and 7.7 rebounds, 4.55 assists and 3.5 steals.
Statistically, Old Westbury is eighth in the conference in assists with an average of 13.40 per game, fourth in the conference in steals (13.16 per game) and eighth in scoring offense (58.4 points per game), and ninth in free throw percentage (57.4).
Also, the Panthers are third in scoring defense (56.6 points allowed per game), scoring margin (+1.7), field goal percentage defense (37.6), and 3-point field goal percentage (25.4). They are ninth in the Skyline in field goal percentage (35) and fourth in rebounding margin (+.6).
The Panthers will travel to Stevens Institute of Technology for a quarter-final match-up in the 2007 Women's Skyline Conference Post-Season Tournament on Tuesday, February 20.
