PANTHERS CAGED BY BROOKLYN COLLEGE, 81-71

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Basketball team fell to non-conference opponent, Brooklyn College, on Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center, 81-71. Old Westbury drops 3-5 overall while Brooklyn College advances to 4-6.
The Panthers jumped out to an early 5-0 lead but were unable to contain Christina McDonnell and her supporting cast as Brooklyn went into the half with a 40-37 advantage. Brooklyn College continued their dominance throughout the second half, stretching the lead to as much as 16 points while caging the Panthers offense to secure their 81-71 victory.
Pamela Robinson led the way for the Panthers with a team-high 22 points to go along with five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Shannon Gilly posted a double-double, finishing with 11 points, 13 boards and three blocks. Ashley Freeman poured in 17 points including three triples to go with six boards and five assists. Shalyn Molnar chipped in with 14 points and pulled down seven boards while Shameeka Bryan grabbed 13.
Brooklyn College posted four players in the double-digit point column with Christina McDonnell netting a game-high 27 points. Amalea Sideris and Joelle Laurenceau both finished with double-doubles. Sideris finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds including eight offensive while Laurenceau added 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jaclyn Cavalcante contributed 18 points, four assists and two steals.
