PANTHERS TAMED BY RAMS

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Basketball team was out scored by 12 points in the second half due to 23 turnovers in the final period, falling to Farmingdale State on Saturday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Center, 79-62.  Old Westbury is now 1-3 on the season and 0-3 in league play while Farmingdale State moves to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in conference action.

Old Westbury battled back and fourth in the first half to keep it close, heading into the half down, 33-28.  In the second half the Panthers were unable to contain Farmingdale State's big five, as they posted five players with double digit points. 

Pamela Robinson poured in a game-high 21 points including 8-for-9 shooting from the charity stripe.  Robinson added four steals and four rebounds.  Shannon Gilly pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds to go along with eight points and five assists.  Ashley Freeman added 12 points while Shalyn Molnar provided eight rebounds and five points off the bench.  Krystal Garner grabbed seven rebounds and Shameeka Bryan added six. 

Farmingdale State was led by their big five.  Christine Daley and Kimberly Blakney netted 15 points apiece to lead the Rams to victory.  Blakney added a game-high six assists and nabbed four steals.  Jasmine Sistrunk connected of 6-of-10 shots from the floor to tally 14 points to go along with nine rebounds (5 offensive).  Mercedes Miller finished with 10 points, nine rebounds and five blocks while Kamaya Miller totaled 10 points off the bench.  Dankery Perez nabbed a game-high five steals to go with seven points and four rebounds.

Old Westbury shot 23-for-67 from the floor while the Rams connected on 29-of-86.  Old Westbury was edged by Farmingdale State in the rebound department, 49-47 while the Panthers committed a game-high 35 turnovers and Farmingdale State had 22.
