GILLY NAMED SKYLINE CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Basketball team was honored this week as Shannon Gilly was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week.
Freshman Shannon Gilly (Staten Island, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week honors after scoring a career-high 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Panthers in the quarterfinals against Mount Saint Vincent. Her double-double against Mount Saint Vincent was one of five on the season. Gilly averaged 8.9 points per game and 1.69 steals as well as ranking in the top 10 in the conference with averages of 8.6 rebounds and 1.19 blocks.
Old Westbury (12-14, 7-11) as a team ranked third in the conference with an average of 11.04 steals per game and presented an offense that averaged 63.7 points per contest (5th in conference). The Green and Ivory connected on 66.2 percent from the free-throw line which was good enough for third best in the conference.
