GOLDEN EAGLES FLY PAST PANTHERS, 77-64

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Basketball team lost to Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's College-Long Island on Tuesday night at the Clark Athletic Center, 77-64.  Old Westbury falls to 1-4 on the season and remains winless in league play with a record of 0-4 while St. Joseph's College-Long Island improves to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in conference action 

Despite being down by 20 points at half-time, Old Westbury outscored the Golden Eagles in the second half, 44-37.  In the end, Old Westbury was unable to come away with the victory.  The Panthers were unable to find a rhythm on the offensive end, shooting 21.9 percent (7-for-32) in the first half from the field and improving to 33.3 percent (16-for-48) in the second half.  St. Joseph's College-Long Island connected on 13-of-28 attempts in the first half and landed 12-of -30 shots from the floor in the second half.

Old Westbury was led by Pamela Robinson, who poured in a game-high 25 points including 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.  Shameeka Bryan pulled down a game-high 21 rebounds (13 defensive) to go along with eight points and three steals.  Shannon Gilly added 15 points and seven rebounds. 

Trish McMahon and Danna Carney each posted a double-double to lead the way for the Golden Eagles.  McMahon finished with a team-high 20 rebounds (16 defensive), 17 points, five assists and five steals while Carney added 19 points and 10 rebounds.  Carissa Pirotta connected on 2-of-3 from beyond the arc and finished with 18 points.

The two teams combined for 65 turnovers, of which Old Westbury forced the Golden Eagles to commit 35.  St. Joseph's College-Long Island edged the Panthers in the rebound column, 48-40.  Old Westbury finished the night shooting 28.8 percent from the floor (23-for-80) while the Golden Eagles shot 43.1 percent (25-for-58)
