PANTHERS TOP YESHIVA, 73-51

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Basketball team notched their first win in league play on Thursday night at the Clark Athletic Center against Yeshiva University, 73-51.  Old Westbury improves to 3-4 on the season and 1-4 in conference action while denying Yeshiva University (2-11, 0-9) of their first Skyline Conference victory.

Old Westbury trailed Yeshiva 17-14 with 9:10 remaining in the opening period, prompting Head Coach Michael Krasnoff to call timeout and regroup his team.  The Panthers came out roaring on a 12-2 run with 5:49 to go before closing out the half on a 23-6 run. 

The Green and White posted four Panthers with double-figures in the point column, led by Pamela Robinson.  Robinson finished with a game-high 23 points and 13 steals to go along with six rebounds and two blocks.  Ashley Freeman followed with 15 points on 2-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc to go with four assists and two steals.  Shameeka Bryan pulled down a team-high 10 boards (6 offensive) while nabbing seven steals and dishing out five assists.  Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week, Shannon Gilly scored 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds (7 offensive) and tallied four steals.  Sharifa Graham poured in 14 points off the bench, including eight rebounds and five steals while Shalyn Molnar and Krystal Garner pulled down eight rebounds apiece.

Yeshiva University was led by Tova Laufer and Jaclyn Ramas.  Laufer tallied a team-high 13 points while Ramas followed with 12.  Bracha Kahn grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. 

Old Westbury out-rebounded Yeshiva, 53-42 including 26 offensive boards.  The two teams combined for 75 turnovers including 47 by the visiting Maccabees, translating into 33 Panther steals.
