WOMEN'S BASKETBALL LED BY ROBINSON'S 38 POINT EFFORT OVER YESHIVA, 94-58

QUEENS, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Basketball team won a 94-58 decision against Skyline Conference opponent, Yeshiva University on Tuesday evening at the Yeshiva High School for Girls in Queens, New York.  Old Westbury moves to 9-13 overall and 4-11 in league play while Yeshiva drops to 3-18 on the season and 1-15 in conference action. 

Old Westbury maintained control from the opening-tip, jumping out to an early 9-0 lead with 18:31 remaining in the opening half.  The Panthers stretched the lead to as many as 15 in the first-half, and went into the half-way point, up 47-32.  Old Westbury extended the lead in the second-half to as many as 43 points, 88-45 with 5:37 left in the game en route to a 94-58 victory.

Pamela Robinson poured in 38 points to lead the Panthers.  Robinson connected on 14-of-25 from the field in addition to recording 12 steals, five rebounds and four assists.  Shameeka Bryan followed with a season-high 23 points to go along with nine rebounds, six assists and five steals.  Upfront, Shalyn Molnar grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds along with seven points and two blocks while Shannon Gilly added 13 rebounds, six points and five steals.  Krystal Garner came off the bench and posted a double-double, finishing with 12 points, 13 rebounds along with two steals.  Ashley Freeman chipped in with nine points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Yeshiva was led by Lauren Kempin's double-double effort.  Kempin finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds and five blocks while Lisa Ogorek had 12 points, six assist and five rebounds.  Tova Laufer added nine points, 11 rebounds and two steals at the same time as Elana Kastzl had seven points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Old Westbury out-rebounded Yeshiva, 66-49 including 30-20 advantage off the offensive glass.  The Old Westbury defensive attack pressured Yeshiva into 34 turnovers, including 12 by Lisa Ogorek while the Panthers totaled 27 steals.
