GILLY NAMED SKYLINE CONFERENCE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Basketball team was honored this week as Shannon Gilly was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week.
Freshman Shannon Gilly (Staten Island, N.Y.) earns Rookie of the Week honors after averaging 13 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games for the Panthers. Gilly scored a season-high 15 points in a 77-64 Skyline Conference loss to St. Joseph's College-Long Island. In an 81-40 non-conference victory over New Rochelle, she recorded her first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. On the season, Gilly is averaging 9.2 points (3rd in team) and 7.5 rebounds per game (2nd in team)
Old Westbury (2-4, 0-4) as a team ranks fourth in the conference with an average of 12 steals per game and presents an offense that averages 64.2 points per contest (4th in conference). The Green and White are shooting a conference best 70 percent from the free-throw line (91-for-130).
The Panthers return to action on Thursday, December 20th to play host to Yeshiva University in a conference battle at the Clark Athletic Center. Game time is slated for 8:00 p.m. and tickets can be purchased one hour prior to tip-off in the lobby of the Clark Athletic Center.
