Lady Panthers go down 3-0 to the Golden Eagles at home
Sep 21, 2004

The Lady Panthers came out ready for action as they took on Skyline opponent and local rival, St. Joseph's (Patchogue) the women were determined to bounce back with a victory after being swept by New Jersey City University in the home opener.

The first game started out fairly competitive however the Golden Eagles were flying higher than the Panther, their expereince showed as Old Westbury fought valiantly but succumbed under the pressure and went down 30-9 in game one.

Coach Segers and the players regrouped and behind freshman middle hitter, Whitney Alexander came out with some high flying skills of their own. The Panthers were energized and seemed to take their game up another notch, even the home crowd found their vocal chords and got behind the women. The Golden Eagles looked tired and the Panthers were poised to pounce. Then just like that St. Joseph's regrouped and the Lady Panther lost a tough one 30-22 in game two.

Game three provided more Panther Pride with Old Westbury hustling for every loose ball trying desperately to catch up. The women gave it their all on every point, and dug out almost every ball that came their way. The Golden Eagles proved too strong for the Lady Panther and came up short, 30-13 as the Panthers left the court, it was easy to see these women battled to the very end. The Panthers will prowl as they must get ready for Thursday night, September 23rd at 7:00 p.m. as another Skyline foe, the Centenary Cyclones roll into the Clark Center. Watch out the Lady Panther awaits their arrival.
