Old Westbury, NY ? The SUNY College at Old Westbury volleyball team bounced back after a conference loss to Kings Point on Tuesday to beat York in three games (30-16, 30-15, 30-18) on Thursday. The Panthers improve to 11-3 overall with the win.
Prior to the start of the match, Head Coach Marjahna Segers altered the Panthers lineup, moving Old Westbury?s top returning hitter, Whitney Alexander, to the outside, rather than the middle. The switch paid off, as Seger?s squad won all three games in quick fashion and Alexander tallied a match-high ten kills in the win.
For the match, the Panthers hit .346, their second highest percentage of the season. Jessica Ratchford added nine kills for Old Westbury, while Jennifer Ragone tallied 21 assists. Jennifer Hoyt, the nation?s leader in service aces, added 12 in the win.
Old Westbury returns to action on Saturday, October 1 at Centenary College.
