Rams Tame The Panthers
October 24, 2006
Old Westbury, NY-On the night of the inaugural Breast Cancer Awareness Game between bitter rivals Farmingdale State and Old Westbury College, it seemed as home court advantage wasn't a factor. A trend of early dominance was set by the Rams as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the first three games. The panthers had no answers for Farmingdale's sophomore sensation Cathryn McLean as she ended up with a match high 18 kills to complete a 43 set night for Senior Falon Taddeo.
The Panthers made a concise effort, down 8-0 in game three to take their first lead of the night as senior Jennifer Ragone rallied the troops 9-8 and cruised to take the game 30-22. Throughout the night, the Rams bullied the Panthers in a 3-1 victory, improving their record to 19-5 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
The Panthers look to improve their 22-11 overall and 5-2 conference record, as they look to create momentum leading to their postseason as they head out of state to compete at the St. Mary's College of Maryland Invitational tournament. The Panthers return to the Clark Athletic Center for Senior Night against Mount Saint Mary's on Tuesday, October 31 at 7:00 pm.
