PANTHERS OVERPOWER EAGLES IN SHUTOUT VICTORY ON SENIOR NIGHT

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Volleyball honored four outstanding seniors on Tuesday night, playing host to the College of Saint Elizabeth at the Clark Athletic Center. The Panthers improved to 13-23 on the season with a 3-0 sweep over the visiting Eagles. The Panthers hit .338 as a team en route to a 30-15, 30-14, 30-17 victory. The College of Saint Elizabeth dropped to 10-15 on the season.
Old Westbury set the tone early in game one with overpowering offense. The offense continued to increase after each game led by Siobhan West, who dished out a match-high 11 assists. West added four kills and three service aces on the offensive end. Both Whitney Alexander and Monique Midy nailed down a match-high nine kills to go along with two service aces apiece. Sheyra Veras dished out nine assists to go along with two service aces while Janera Johnson led the Panthers with five service aces in addition to eight kills. L'oreal Ellington finished with five kills. On the defensive strike, Siobhan West led the Panthers with nine digs, while Lauren Fischetti posted eight and Veras added seven.
Old Westbury returns to action on Wednesday for a Quarterfinal match-up at Mount Saint Mary in the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament. First serve is slated for 7:00 pm.
