PANTHERS DROP SKYLINE CONFERENCE MATCH TO FARMINGDALE ST., 3-1

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury Women's Volleyball team dropped a tough conference match to Farmingdale State, 3-1, Tuesday evening at the Clark Athletic Center. Farmingdale State defeated Old Westbury at the 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Match, 30-28, 30-22, 20-30, 30-18, to improve to 17-15 and 5-2 in Skyline league play. Old Westbury drops to 10-23 overall and is now 5-4 in conference action.
Whitney Alexander recorded a team-high 11 kills, while Siobhan West handed out 12 assists. Monique Midy tallied 10 kills and Janera Johnson added seven. On the defensive end, Sheyra Veras registered a team-high 13 digs and Lauren Fischetti added 12. Monique Midy totaled a match-high three blocks.
Farmingdale State was led by Cathryn McLean, Amanda Sperling and Colleen Macke on the offensive end. McLean and Sperling tallied a match-high 18 kills apiece while Macke distributed a match-high 38 assists. Amanda Sieber added 10 kills. On the defensive strike, six players produced double-figure numbers in the dig column, led by Amanda Sieber's 17 while Elena Albert added 15.
Farmingdale State held a 53-37 advantage in kills and held an 88-48 lead in digs. Old Westbury and Farmingdale State were tied with four blocks apiece.
Old Westbury returns to action on Saturday, October 27th for a non-conference tri-match.
