BEJA LEADS WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY AT SKYLINE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y.-The SUNY College at Old Westbury women's cross country team competed at the Skyline Conference Championship on Sunday morning at Annandale-on-Hudson hosted by Bard College.  Sophomore Samantha Beja (Oceanside, N.Y.) led the squad with a 52nd place finish.    

Samantha Beja was Old Westbury's top finisher in the 5K race at 52nd place with a time of 28:52. Freshman Angela Dixon (Bronx, N.Y.) crossed 53rd in 28:58 and first-year Kinetta Ellis (Brooklyn, N.Y.) clocked in at 31:21.  Junior Rayyanah Badilla (Brooklyn, N.Y.) rounded out the scoring for the Panthers, finishing 67th in 32:46. 

Brittany Carter of St. Joseph's-L.I. claimed first place with a finish time of 20:33, followed by Mount Saint Vincent's Angelica Iribarne, who claimed second place at 21:20.  Elyse Patrella of St. Joseph's-L.I. posted a third place finish clocking in at 21:31.
